Posted that on Facebook almost a week ago. The Digital Mobyfort has been down most of the year due to what i can only describe as "reasons," so i've gotten little to nothing done on this year's Poor-Ass Christmas. I've made a spreadsheet, where i put in song titles as i think of them or as they come up, but that's been about it.
Also, it's going to be a weird year for it, since, without access to my 60,000 song strong iTunes library and array of convenient travel pods, most of the comp is going to be made up of songs i've heard on Pandora. Pandora figured into previous PACs, but i haven't used it much for a few years up until now. But this year, i've been almost exclusively listening to Pandora both all day at work, and a lot at home, since our new smart TV has a built-in Pandora app. I've definitely discovered a lot of good stuff, but unfortunately Pandora trends significantly toward hits and radio singles, whereas i typically gravitate toward the deeper cuts.
Well, it is what it is. I've downloaded all of the songs from my spreadsheet and dumped them into an iTunes playlist and am beginning the process of whittling it down. I'm probably going to add some more stuff too though.
It is October 29. Usually i stop adding things on October 1st, have the track list finalized by November 1, and spend the two weeks leading up to my birthday finalizing packaging, for distribution at my birthday party. I really hope this doesn't all come out seeming rushed.
