I've been meaning to start some kind of a web page to house all of the information on the Poor-Ass Christmas compilation for a couple years now. A blog wasn't my original intention, but i think it's gonna work out. I'll migrate over all of the liner notes from previous years at some point, they're currently in my main blog, Paradigm Pudding.
So what am i going to do with this blog, besides the liner notes? The plan is to put up all of the previous PACs for download, along with their art. I think i want to remaster them all though. The first few years have some tracks on them that are kind of low quality, so i'm going to replace those with better versions, and all of the compilations need the audio normalized (making the songs all the same volume). I'm trying to decide if i want to create and post new art for the old comps, or just put up the original art. The original files for the first few are missing, so they'd have to be scans if i did it that way. I don't know. Lots of options.
I do work on this compilation year round, so there's the potential that i'll post updates on what i'm listening to all year, also. Would that be interesting to anybody?
I also want to write out a complete history of this project, even if nobody but me reads it. I've posted little bits of that history in some of the previous liner notes, but i don't think the whole picture is in there. The fact of the matter is, and it took me probably 7 or 8 years of doing the PAC before i realized this, is that every one of these compilations is kind of a snapshot of who i was during that year. The Poor-Ass Christmas Collection is my autobiography as a boxed set. This is who i am.
